Since becoming a mum I tend to seriously over dress for even the most casual of gatherings. So many exquisite evening pieces to choose from and nowhere to go in them! I like to plan my outfits well in advance but this party sent me into a bit of a spin. The invite in question was a significant birthday party of an old friend, but it was a house party and there was no theme. Stuck for ideas I settled on smart casual. I stumbled across this adorable blouse the day of the party at Mary’s ‘Living and Giving’ shop in Richmond and knew it was going to rock with a jean. The tux adds a bit of gravitas and with one of its natural partners, the jean, it did very nicely, thank you.
(I am also mighty pleased with these new ‘sexy boyfriend’ jeans from Gap. They come in a few different washes and levels of ‘distress’ – take a look at the website before they sell out.)
