It’s hot. It’s damn crazy hot. I want sleeveless. I want airy. I want wafty. This @threegraces dress is perfect. Lightly fitted to the bust with the most expertly cut neckline. The beauty of it is that it falls in a looser cut right under the bust so there is no sticking or catching. The full skirt is long with acres of fabric so you get plenty of movement and air. Please can you make it in every colour under the rainbow each summer forever more? This @thisisstelar straw bag is structured so it feels smart but fits a surprising amount of stuff. I’m not known for travelling light so this is a bonus. Ideal for a whole host of summer outfits when you don’t want a leather bag. Lastly, I got these @arizona.l.o.v.e sandals before our U.S trip. Oh my! Sooooo comfy. Highly recommend them. Plus I love the girlish bow ties and the soft velvet. They can dress up any outfit instantly. Keep cool everyone! X ...
More from New York, New York! A trip last week to @auchevaldiner for a slap up dinner. I wore @ganni sundress, ideal for the steamy weather and for the subsequent gorging on burgers and THE most enormous deserts known to man. Expertly cooked burger’s and then key lime pie ( a generous portion) and mille feuille -which was easily enough for 6 people. Seriously! So glad I wore that dress. A waistband would have cramped my style. X ...
My latest column is online @financialtimesfashion Check out which sunglasses you should wear for your face shape. Apologies for the late post, I’ve been on holiday with my family. Any questions give me a shout. Link in bio x ...
Phewee. 25 years together. 19 years married. Bronze apparently. What on earth would I want in bronze? A door knob? A horseshoe? We plumped for a fancy meal @thebritanniarichmond and had some bubbly. We drive each other crazy but he’s my biggest cheerleader and the one I want to rush home to - whether I’ve had a good day or a bad one. I’m very lucky he’s put up with all my idiosyncrasies for so long! Xx ...
Country wedding a few weeks ago. A quintessentially English garden affair complete with tented marquee, dried grasses on the trestle tables and hay bales for the ceremony. Congratulations to Anthony and Heather. This @sir_thelabel dress was a bit of a departure for me. It’s a beautiful cut, full length with movement through the skirt via the fit and flare shape. Made in a light organza it gives structure whilst staying wonderfully light. A new dress up favourite! I actually bought it in the sales last summer. Hope you like it x ...
Easy shirt, scarf and rolled trousers combo today! The scarf is from
@bella.singleton and is really simple to wear. Style with tees, dresses, knits and shirts. You can sit it with any of the colours contained in the print. Zooms, office admin and a colour session later this afternoon. Can’t wait! Happy Friday x ...
In case you missed my column at the weekend @financialtimesfashion and you’re suffering in the heat I’ve put the link in my bio. @carolineissa (pictured) showing us how to look cool in the height of summer. I’ve also tried silk trousers and linen waistcoats as a good combo, plus lots of low armhole tops and dresses. I often ask my tailor to lower armholes for comfort. Don’t wear anything too fitted especially on the torso. It doesn’t feel good and is especially unpleasant if you find yourself having to walk quickly to a meeting or if you get stuck on the tube. Let me know what you’re all wearing in this tropical weather! X ...
Trip into London yesterday. Walked from Embankment to Regent Street, try ons in @libertylondon sale, spot of lunch ( and CAKE, oh the cake!) in Arthur’s cafe, sunglasses shopping, ogling @swarovski @alexandermcqueen and a dreamy walk back through St James’ ( itching to see inside that palace) to Richmond. My perfect day! ...
